Ermine Seen Climbing Through a Cliff Crevice While Pursuing Prey
This ermine was spotted scaling a vertical cliff about 30 feet (9 meters) off the ground in pursuit of woodrats. Agile and focused, it gave the photographer only a brief glance before continuing its climb.

Ermines are skilled hunters, capable of taking down prey larger than themselves. Their agility and determination make them well-suited to navigating even the most challenging terrain.
They are called stoats throughout the year, but when their fur turns white in winter, they are known as ermines. This seasonal change helps them blend into the snow, making it easier to avoid predators and hunt.
